Teaching about Syria to Younger Learners:

In the digital society in which we live, elementary students have in some way heard about Syria and are naturally curious about what the crisis is all about. While a certain amount of caution must be in order, it is possible to introduce younger learners to the topic, allowing them to understand the basics information in an age-appropriate manner. To do so, we recommend tailoring the PowerPoint to meet the emotional needs of your class, then pivoting to examine any of the articles listed below, focusing on the human cost of what it means to be a refugee--then in some way, inspiring your class to take action.
